Impact on poles
DVP- Impact model for roadside barriers
Statements of Novelty:
- A viscoplastic soil model for vehicular barrier design
- Capture strain softening
- Capture strain rate effects
- Implementable in LS-DYNA
- Provide better alignment with field test results compared to existing soil models
Practical Merits:
- Input parameters are easy to determine
- Enable the use of more realistic soil properties in simulations
- Save time, materials and Labour

Impact on rockfall protection baffles

Steel baffles are used in rockfall trajectories in reducing the speed of rock falling down a mountain. Design of these baffles need to consider conditions of both ground and structural steel stiffness parameters.
